Camping on the Farm

Camping at Sipsey Creek Farm in Bankhead National Forest offers a unique experience that allows you to immerse yourself in nature without having to set up a tent. Imagine spending your nights under a dazzling blanket of stars, nestled in one of our cozy tents. These primitive yet comfortable accommodations provide the perfect retreat, allowing you to rest and rejuvenate after a day of outdoor exploration. With the sounds of the forest lulling you to sleep, you can wake up refreshed and ready to embark on new adventures, whether it's hiking along scenic trails or discovering hidden waterfalls. At Sipsey Creek Farm, tent camping is a delightful alternative that allows you to fully embrace the beauty of the great outdoors.

Our glamping season runs October through November and February through May, when the air cools and the forest softens. We close the tents during the summer and deep winter—because nothing good ever came from sweating in a bell tent in July.

Our Amenities

Private Tent Amenities:

  • A real bed — no air mattresses here (though you’re welcome to bring one if you need extra sleeping space and have a way to inflate it).

  • A private outdoor outhouse with a porta-potty — cleaned regularly and reserved just for your stay.

  • A camping sink with water for handwashing. Simple, clean, and close enough not to fumble in the dark.

  • Each tent includes a designated space for campfires—either a traditional fire pit or a chiminea (Forest Tent).

    • Firewood is available for purchase at the barn.

    • A lighter is provided at your tent, but we recommend bringing a Firestarter if you need extra help.

    • Absolutely no burning of trash in fire pits—let's keep the forest clean and safe. A trash can is provided at each site.

Shared Spaces:

  • A communal Pit Boss fire pit near the barn, surrounded by chairs, stacked firewood, and an open view of the sky.

  • A covered, open-air gathering porch—perfect for rainy mornings, quiet evenings, or catching a movie on the Roku TV when the weather rolls in.

  • Vintage seating, old books, and a few well-loved relics from lives well-lived and stories half-told.

  • A help-yourself drink station with coffee, tea, and drinking water.
Plus space to prepare a simple meal—nothing fancy, just what you need.

  • A shared bath house with a flushing toilet and a propane-powered hot shower—because rustic doesn’t have to mean cold.
